Dozens of healthcare workers rallied against a California vaccination mandate outside Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles on Friday.

Dozens of people could be seen outside the medical centre, holding up signs against the vaccination mandate that requires healthcare workers to have at least one dose of the vaccine in order to work.

"I’m here because I’m a health worker facing suspension and more likely dismissal for choosing to follow my own body’s autonomy and not take the vaccine," says Krystle, a protester.

Under the new order issued by public health official Dr Tomas J. Aragon, California became the first state to require the COVID-19 vaccine for healthcare workers, allowing only religious or rare medical exemptions.
